Kabar! (news!)

This month started off with a big bang! Another youth festival in the village of Perbesi! (pics below) It was two fun packed nights with prizes, movie, music concert, games, etc! The young people and kids there were so excited!

It was a real joy to bring the gospel to this village.. because it really needs it! Although the village is from a Hindu background it is now full of many different religions.. the community is really searching for what is true. They are known to be a very hard people. This was proven while we were there.. we didnt get the excited and happy welcome we do in most villages. You could see how this had even affected the children, even at such a young age! They were some of the roughest and most misbehaved children I have ever seen. For example they were throwing bloody squirrel tails at some of us! I guess this is some weird form of persecution for the gospel!! Hahaha..

It is such a joy to bring the gospel to places that really need it! While preaching the 2nd night I told the people. Mukjizat akan terjadi di tempat ini malam ini! (Miracles will happen in this place tonight!) They looked at me like I was crazy… But after we prayed an overjoyed woman came up on the stage.. Shed been blind for 5 years.. but that night she showed all the people how she could see again! It was such an amazing moment! Jesus had proven himself! All the glory to Him! Praise God! The village of Perbesi got to hear and see the gospel!

Now.. some other interesting, not so spiritual things also happened in Perbesi. For example: we climbed up to a beautiful hill one day.. (pic below) and got really really sunburt. So because I didnt want to preach with a red face I borrowed the Indonesians make up.. its not brown.. but very very white! Whiter than me! So I ended up with make up that looked like a china doll! But the Indonesians all kept telling me how beautiful I looked! Haha.. During the music concert I tried to tell the sound guy something.. yelling into his ear.. but we ended up smashing heads and my lips went into his ear! Sick! He avoided me for the rest of the night.. haha.. Then on the 2nd night I noticed some of the kids were yelling trying to tell me something while I was preaching (but since Ive already explained what the kids were like you can understand why I didnt pay attention to them).. that is until I realized they were telling me my fly was open. That was the worst!! Bahaha..

This month also had some disappointments.. some things didnt happen the way we had planned them.. this is always sad and hard to accept. But I am always reminded that His ways are higher than our ways. And His thoughts higher than our thoughts.. And instead of it slowing me down Ive decided I am going to go even harder and further than before! Even Jesus was rejected sometimes.. but He never stopped. So either will we. We will keep on going on until every ear has heard the good news!

There was also some challenges in the ministry in Bandar Baru this month.. but also some really big steps were taken. Some of the girls went to church for the 1st time! And they are becoming so much open to talk to us about their problems and let us minister to them! (pic below)

Usually around this time of year I would be planning on finishing up my time here to go home to Canada for the summer. But not this year.. And as I am working on confirming the schedule for the next 3 months.. wow. It is incredibly full! But also so exciting!! Starting this week well be going into the mountains and far area of Aceh! Bringing the gospel to many villages! Than I hope to travel to some islands below Singapore and reach all the young girls who only live in dorms and work in factories and have lost all hope.. Most of July will be focused on doing a Huge Youth Festival in my home town! I hope to take that Youth Festival also to the coast of a city Sibolga, that has a large unreached population in August! If possible we will also travel further into Aceh in August to reach those who have never heard the gospel before!! And sooooo much more!

Thank you so much for your faithful support!! Together we are seeing so many lives touched by Jesus!!

Semuanya bagi Yesus! (all for Jesus!),
