Wow!!

I know i’s only been about a week since I last wrote.. butsoooooo much has happened!

As I wrote last time, we were planning a huge youth festival, in the city of Balige and although we had many supporting us, including the Regent of the area, there were also many against us. I began to hear of others calling on witchdoctors and other sorts of things to try and stop our event from going forward.
 

Two days before the event I looked over the city of Balige and prayed for the young generation there and gave all of the worries and all of the event over to Jesus.I felt to read through the beginning of the Book of Acts. I was really inspired by the Apostles and how they lived their lives! No matter what happened they would not stop preaching the gospel! They only prayed for more boldness to continue on preaching the good news! Then I was blown away when I read these verses; Acts 5:38b-39a. “For if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing. But if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it.”

This is exactly what I needed to remember! I knew that the youth festival in Balige was not my plan;I knew it was all God. When I read these verses I realized that no matter what others tried to do to stop the gospel from being preached.. they couldn’t succeed! It was such a wonderful joy. And prepared me for the next day.

Many great things have been happening!

In Bandar Baru one of the girls had a baby. We got to visit and hold her while she was only 4 days old! Because we started visiting this girl more often she even opened up to us and shared her life story with us.. this is great because it means we got to really share God’s love with her! This is me in her home. Holding ‘Putri’ at 4 days old:

During hospital visits one family really touched my heart. When I first came to them they looked so downcast.. but as I shared Jesus their faces began to change. And the more I shared the more their faces turned into faces full of hope and joy. When I went to leave the grandmother of the family grasped our hands and just thanked us over and over again for coming!

In just a few days we will be lifting Jesus’ name high on a soccer field full of young people in this city of Balige! 

On April 18^th-19^th I will be doing the biggest event so far in these 5 years in Indonesia!

The city is already filling with excitement! Yesterday we gathered all the youth from all churches together.. the response was amazing.. and deafening! Hahaha..

The outreach will be done through a youth concert. We even have some star singers flying in from Jakarta. And of course.. most importantly we will be using all of this to gather them together to hear the beautiful gospel of Jesus!

Our target is 5,000-10,000 young people!!

Wow!!! It’s soooo exciting!

So please be a part of it!! You can contribute to this event being a success and brining 1,000’s of youth to Jesus!

 

I ask you for your prayers! Pray for this area, for many young people to come, for everything to run smoothly, for the funds needed to be provided, for the local churches to run with the vision, etc.

I am amazed at how God brought me to this city and how He has worked it all out!
