April News…

Many great things have been happening!

In Bandar Baru one of the girls had a baby. We got to visit and hold her while she was only 4 days old! Because we started visiting this girl more often she even opened up to us and shared her life story with us.. this is great because it means we got to really share God’s love with her! This is me in her home. Holding ‘Putri’ at 4 days old:

During hospital visits one family really touched my heart. When I first came to them they looked so downcast.. but as I shared Jesus their faces began to change. And the more I shared the more their faces turned into faces full of hope and joy. When I went to leave the grandmother of the family grasped our hands and just thanked us over and over again for coming!

Also, I’ve been focusing a lot more with my ‘boy’s home’. And it is so encouraging to see the changes we have in the past 2 weeks! They are coming out of their shells and becoming so much more involved in our sharing times. Learning how to worship and pray. It is really such a joy to be with them. And even though a few weeks ago we decided we couldn’t take in more than 5 boys because our studio is too small of a place. I came one night and was totally shocked to see a youth boy who ran away 2 years ago.. he just showed up at our doorstep! Rejecting him is not an option because we knew he was already at a point of desperation, where suicide was an option. So I now feel like I am a 25year-old mother with 6 teenage sons! It’s totally crazy!! But I love it…

A few Sundays ago I got the opportunity to go minister in a village church. It was a real joy! And an adventure..haha. To get there us 3 girls piled in the back of the pickup truck. Sometimes feeling like we were flying out of it as we hit the big bumps in the road!haha. This is me preaching in that church in the village of Sampun:

After that service some of the members invited us to their orange grove on the way home. It was a lot of fun…wandering around in our church clothes picking our own fruit. The orange groves here are so beautiful!

That weekend us girls had a free night..what did we do? We decided to spend it with our good friend and Muslim neighbour, IbuTika. We went down to the street market for some ‘bandrek’,a seriously spicy local drink! Here we are enjoying it!

He is everything!!
