News from 8/31 Event!
A few weeks ago I wrote you with 3 prayer requests. I’d like to update you on what happened…
1. The building we want to purchase for our youth centre: The famiy who owns it is going to gather together next month to make the decision on it. Please continue to pray for us for wisdom and God’s provision for this.
2. The Bible College: Thanks to your prayers I did hire someone and she is a great help to me in all of the work. Only a month away from the starting date! Wow!! Keep praying for it.
3. Our youth event on Aug 31st:…. a HUGE SUCCESS!!!
We called the event, ‘Born to be Free’. Celebrating the Independence Day here in Indonesia.. but using that to tell the young people of the REAL freedom we have in Christ!! The peopled listened intently while inbetween the songs of the concert young people would share their testimonies of how they had been set free from a life filled with drugs, pain, and lonliness. Many prayed together to recieve Jesus into their life..
Even though every other day has rained here.. we got the sunniest day ever!! Our event went for hours but the crowds did not want to go home!
We were in a parking lot right in downtown of our city.. the first for any event like this!
Even though everyone was absolutely exhausted after the event there was this unmistakable feeling of excitment and joy throughout the whole city!!
I think the pictures I have attached can maybe tell it better than I can. (hope to have some of the video up on the site soon too!)
