The last news that I sent was about our big outreach in the city of Marelan. 2 days after that event I left with all of my second year class for a mission trip! What an adventure that was!

We went to where our current missionaries (graduated students) are located. It was the usual long trip by train and then by boat, and then a joyful welcome as we arrived!

The mission trip lasted a week as each one of the 6 missionaries lead a team of 2^nd year students door to door preaching the gospel and praying for the sick! There were many excited testimonies on the way home!

I’m so proud of our graduates who have become missionaries there! They are constantly experiencing miracles. One Muslim family they ministered to not only received Jesus but has now been baptized and is being discipled! Just recently we had sent a dvd of an outreach here. They gathered all the neighbours of that family together to watch it. And all the neighbours were enthralled with hearing the good news as well!

Last weekend I had another very cool opportunity to go to do a youth event in a city I have wanted to reach for a long time!  I was so happy to have a local church there contact me and want to work together to reach young people! I was expecting a small crowd. But I was so surprised to see the 400 chairs were not enough. Then the extra benches weren’t enough. Soon they needed to put out mats in the balcony to fit even more!

I shared a message on how we were far from God, but now He has made us close. And as I shared about God’s love I felt them really receiving it. When I asked who wanted to receive this love I did not see one hand in the place that didn’t go up! I called them up to the front and as some of the young people stood at the front they started to cry and just really experience God’s love. I felt it was so much more than just salvation they had received, but a calling and purpose in life.

This weekend I will lead to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to minister there and then once I come back I will continue teaching “Fulfilling Your Destiny” in the Bible College here.. that has been a great time so far! And then we will be busy preparing our next evangelism events with the school. And in just one month is our graduation!

So… many more exciting reports to come!

As we expected, 1,000’s of people came to the field each night of the event!

And I felt it was a great joy and honor to be able to stand on stage and tell them about Jesus for the first time ever there!

Although everyone had warned me about what a hard area it was; a training center for terrorists, a place that would never allow Jesus’ name to be proclaimed, a tribe that would no doubt riot or persecute the churches after such a thing.. but, while I spoke, not one thing was thrown. While the event went on, not one riot or uprising was done. And after it was over, not one church or Christian was persecuted for it.

In fact… even the opposite took place!

Before the event I had met with the community and religious leaders and they had told me their biggest concern for their young people was the motorcycle gangs that drove up and down their main road every night. It disturbed everyone’s sleep and there was usually at least one death a week caused by it. They said they would test our event by the decrease in motorcycle gang activity.  I was actually not even sure how by just one opportunity to preach the gospel how gangs would be stopped..

But.. that’s the amazing thing! God does more than we even imagine! A week after the event the community leaders came to the local committee and thanked them for the event! Not persecuted or threatened them… thanked them! They said that since our event the motorcycle gangs had stopped!  They even asked us to do the event again next year!!

I was blown away by all the testimonies I heard from the local committee!

The greatest thing of all for me was when they testified that their eyes had been open to see that it was not impossible for them to preach the gospel to that area or that tribe. It had been done! History had been broken. Jesus had been proclaimed! Now… they are planning how they can continue this on!

For me this event was a great experience… to sow the gospel seeds into hearts for the first time. To tell all those people that Jesus had already taken their place, died for their sin. To be able to even pray with them to receive God’s love, through Jesus into their hearts. To work together with my youth team and students who did an amazing job through music and dramas, that really showed Jesus in ways that words even couldn’t. And to be able to see that I could inspire believers and churches that with God, nothing is impossible! There is no tribe, no area, no religion that is impossible to reach!

Please continue to pray for that area as this group of pastors and believers keep on working there. Before the event I did training for the local youth believers and we already have a follow-up event planned for next month!

p.s. In case you didn’t realize it by this email… I’ve alive! Hahaha. Yes. We were hit the other day with a huge and long, 8.6 earthquake and then just a few hours later another one over 8 on the Richter scale. But… Praise God! No damage. No tsunami. We’re all ok!!

The area is Marelan. Only about an hour outside of our city of Medan. But the population is over 90% Muslim. There are almost no churches or Christians that live there. AndNEVER

BEFORE HAS THERE BEEN AN OPEN EVENT TO PREACH THE GOSPEL THERE! NEVER BEFORE!!!

We are talking about an opportunity to reach 1,000’s of people from one of Inodnesia’s Unreached People Groups with the gospel for the very first time!!!

The dates are for March 23-24^th.. just two weeks away!! This Monday I will be meeting the leaders of the area (all Muslim) to discuss this event. Wow!

Billboards are going up now.. and over 20,000 flyers will start to be distributed next week!

BE A PART OF CHANGING HISTORY IN ONE OF INDONESIA’S MOST WELL KNOWN UNREACHED TRIBES!

Today I am asking you to pray with me:

1. Agree in prayer with me that God’s grace is upon me so strongly that on Monday all the leaders will support myself and this event coming into their area.

2. Thank God that He is providing all the funds. And pray for me that I would not allow the current situation (only have 1/3 of what is needed) to cause worry or distract my mind.

3. Speak over the publicity that it will draw many to come and hear the gospel.

4. Give thanks to God His Will will be done and no one (not even the radical and violent groups there) will be able to stop it.

One of our team, Debora, is a leader of a youth group in a nearby village, susuk. I was excited to do an event with her youth group. What more, I knew if we reached out to new souls that her and her youth would be ready to do the follow up! Because susuk is quite small we decided to move it to the biggest nearby village, Tiganderket, and invite all the nearby villages.

Other events in that area have been quite small… we had no idea how many people we could possibly get. But Debora and her youth team had faith that we could reach 2,000 souls there! So.. we planned according to their faith!

And… as the people gathered the local pastors and leaders were shocked.. it was the biggest crowd they had ever had in that area! Even I began to think…”where did all these people come from??”  hahaha.

As always it was a great joy to stand in front of all of those people and share God’s love with them! I really preached on His love… how His love is perfect and was proven by how He was willing to lay down His life for them! So many decided to receive this great love, through Jesus, into their hearts!

After this time of prayer and a quiet time for them to enjoy Jesus we started to break out rejoicing. I jumped so much I could barely talk after! Haha.. but.. I  believe it was a great moment for that area!

The night before our event I had gathered the local youth groups together and trained them in the basics of the gospel and how to do follow up with the new souls that we reached. I was really excited to see these local young people.. they worked so hard in every area of this event!

The time to reach this young generation of Indonesia is now!

50% of Indonesia’s population is under 30… 50% of 240 million people in a Muslim country… the harvest is HUGE!!!

So…even though we just finished this event in Tiganderket we are already busy preparing our next event for the end of March in Marelan!

We have just gotten the final, provincial permits from the police to use the field there. Marelan is a very radical Muslim area. And no one has even been able to get the permits to do an event to preach the gospel there before! We will be breaking history next month and reaching another unreached people group!!

Next week I plan to meet with the Muslim leaders of that area to inform them of our event there. I’d really appreciate it if you’d take some time to pray for that.

Everything we do here… reaching the lost in Tiganderket or the unreached in Marelan.. it is all by your prayers and support! Thank you for all you do!!

2 weeks ago I went to visit our graduates who I have sent out to be missionaries for a year. As they shared some of their testimonies of what God had done through them the past few months I was amazed! It was like reading chapter right out of the Book of Acts! I remember teaching them the Book of Acts in school… and telling them their life would be a continuation of that. And now I see that as a reality!

They could not even count how many people they had shared the gospel with anymore. They also had prayed for the sick many times. And had many receive Jesus – including even a witchdoctor of the area. The most recent story was of a Muslim woman who had been seriously ill for a few months. After the team prayed for her she was healed! After that she decided to receive Jesus! And then.. she started going around the whole town telling everyone about Jesus who has healed her! Just yesterday our missionaries gave her a Bible and are now starting to disciple her and her family (even though her children are in school to become a Muslim imam!) Amazing!!

Now.. in two weeks time something else exciting will happen!

We are going to be doing another big youth event to preach the gospel to the lost!Billboards are going up today to advertise the event and we are expecting 1,000’s to attend! This area was chosen because one of our own team has a youth group there which will be perfect for them so they can do the follow up after the event is over!  I will be doing training for all youth from all churches the night before the event so they are prepared to do this.

And.. we are not stopping there! We have another big event in a hard Muslim area in March… keep proclaiming Jesus until all are saved!!
