What is Grace for?
A lot of talk today about grace and how far to take it.. Here's my 2 minute take on, "What is Grace for?"
What is Grace for? 2 Timothy 1:9 – Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. Grace is for : 1) Saving Us
We clearly know that without grace we could never be saved.
We receive Christ’s righteousness, new life, blessings, sonship, rights and are reconciled with the Father all by grace.
However, grace is for more than just us being saved and receiving things for ourselves! Grace is for: 2) Calling Us
Sadly many believers don’t consider their new life after salvation and realize that not only are we saved, but after salvation there is a calling for us to walk in!
Most people think they are called because of what they have done (deserve it). Or oppositely think they cannot be called because of wrong choices they have made. But our calling is based on grace, not what we have done – because we were called and made with a purpose before we were even born!
God’s grace goes beyond just saving us from hell, destruction, sickness, the devil, curses, and separation from Him but it also calls us into our created position and purpose on this earth! Not just out of the pit, but into our purpose!
Walking in our calling we will not only be in the best place that was created for us, but we will also be an impact, blessing and source of grace to others!
Grace is not just for us: what it can give us, make us, how it can bless us.. But Grace is to bring us to our purposed position to be grace and have an impact on the world around us! Just look at the Apostle Paul, the apostle with the greatest revelation of grace, he also is the greatest example of someone living out their calling to the fullest and encouraging others to walk in it! Gal 1:15, 1 Cor 1:26-31, 2 Tim 4:2-8 When we have laid the foundations of grace for our salvation we do not stop there, or lay it over again. But we continue to walk daily in that grace. The grace that calls us on to a beautiful purpose that was made for us before time even began!
